Maddy's fab modelling portfolio - with lots of shots!

All these shots are from just one portfolio shoot with Maddy. The package was the 'Here I Come – Pro Modelling Package'  which includes shooting 5 looks, 7 finals and a comp card. But as you can see we came up with a lot more shots than that! Yes it can be hard to choose when you have such a good range and quality of shoots but that's a great position to be in! Better too many of those killer shots than too few. And here they are, a mix of Maddy's selections and my own.
Along with Hair and Make-Up artist Kaori we were able to put together a range of looks and styles for the comp card that feel like they were made on different shoots when in fact they were all made in the space of about four hours. Maddy has worked for years as a child and then young teen model; we wanted to keep the smiling happy Maddy but also to create a new older and sexier Maddison too! Yes we were all a bit tired by the end, its quite demanding work; but we were all very pleased with the results as you can see.

Rachael; Teen Modelling Portfolio

I am always happy to take a call from a mum or model or for that matter anyone who is wondering how to go about organising their first modelling portfolio or photo shoot. On this occasion it was Rachael's mum Wendy who had a few questions about how it works and what the cost of my various modelling portfolio packages were; studio location and availability.
That's how it usually begins, (some research on the part of a parent or model) then a phone call and a conversation; and quite often I am pleased to say a booking. We did this shoot last month, Rachael and Wendy brought plenty of outfits and shoes for us to style the shoot with; we shot 3-4 looks and headshots along the way. Kaori did a wonderful job with the hair and make-up adding to the different look and feel of the pictures we needed for a successful folio shoot.

How did we go? Well we all think it went pretty well and you can see the results below which I believe are just right and age appropriate for a mid teen portfolio shoot.

Harlette Lingerie, Luxury UK Classics Shot in Sydney

While in Sydney last year UK based luxury brand Harlette lingerie approached me about shooting three of their new ranges. We had a few discussions about what model they would like to use and then I remembered Miss Universe 2012 contestant Carly Everett, who in my opinion looks more than a little like Sydney's favourite model Jennifer Hawkins! She is now also signed with  Platform Models which I hear is the same agency 'our Jen' started her modelling career with.

We decided to shoot at the lovely white on white Elephant Studio in Rosebery. But Carly was not the only model on set! She had to work very hard to outshine two lovely poodles in several shots; not as easy as you may think with those lovely pooches working hard for the camera's attention too.. The lovely Kaori did a fabulous job with the hair and make-up as always and here are the results. I hope you enjoy the shots. And of course I am looking forward to photographing more high fashion lingerie in the future.

Yianni Zinonos - New PR Portrait Series for 2012

This is the second time I have produced a series of PR portraits for Yianni who is perhaps best know for his popular TVS show Yianni's City Life. As with all my shoots we took as much time as we needed to make the pictures we wanted; the pictures that said what we wanted to say. In this case Yianni wanted shots that positioned him more as a presenter than the presenter of a cooking and lifestyle show as had been the case in previous portrait shoots. Shots from our last portrait shoot were very popular with both print and web media being published many times over; Yianni and I are looking forward to the same level of success with these portrait images.

Catherine Calvert Studio Shoot - Shot 5 - Movement

It's not what you always go for; but sometimes a variety of shots of the same outfit does work as a series - strengthening the concept of the shot as opposed to diluting it. I think the way these super flared pants work like a longish skirt or pair of culottes, the details of the blouse and jacket - the variety reveals more of these details & our model Jazz is easily up to the task of the movement and excitement helping to bring the outfit to life.
