I had a great time producing and photographing this shot for the L'OREAL Mothers Day promotion. It's a tie-in with a portrait studio and to fulfil the brief we wanted talent and a final image that was in-line with L'OREAL's advertising and fitted with the portrait studio's demographic. The commission came my way after it was discovered the tie-in client did not have an image quite suitable for the campaign and it was decided it would be quicker and easier to make one to order.
We were working to a very tight time-line to fit in with both the agency and my own busy shooting schedule. I ran a casting on-line but in the end we went with Jacquie, whom I had photographed many times as a younger model as the Mum and Jasmine, who I had met just a week or so earlier when she was
modelling at an event I had popped in to with our Stylist Briana Catherine Wall. the shot was modelled and took its fashion styling cues from the stock image that had been used for the agency presentation. As the 'tie-in studio' works with white and black backgrounds, for the shoot we went with white and then a dark blue as a just-in-case alternative.
Final approved image (top of page) was retouched by me. A big thank-you to all the team for their great work.
